About the Artist:
Sarah Thornton is an oil painter from Minnesota with a background in biology and a passion for color theory. She is drawn to dog and cat portraits because of the joy they bring to people’s lives. Sarah's technique begins with a realistic sketch which she then transforms with bold swaths of paint that challenge that realism -- some colors are spontaneous, while others are well planned. Her approach is refreshingly low-tech: lots of practice, a dash of obsession, and access to quality art materials.
